The CATCH Working Group consists of thought leaders, families, and advocates from around the country who have come to believe that the mental health system for children and families is “broken”, or perhaps was never fixed, and that new, more appropriate systems will have to be developed. Most likely, it will be possible to develop appropriate systems by “tweaks” to the old system; instead, new systems will have to be built from the ground up, with the appropriate mission, values, scientifically based methods and content, training, and economic infrastructures in place to support a quality services delivery system.
